Road Building is a core part of Norellco’s business. A typical project can include any of the following: new road construction, adding passing lanes, road widening, grading, slide repair, erosion control, and culvert/bridge file installation.
Since 2006 the City of Edmonton has had an initiative to improve the City’s storm water quality and Norellco has been involved in three of these projects and we have become highly skilled in this environmentally sensitive area.
Our underground projects have included deep utilities underground installation including the Edmonton LRT expansion. We also have performed many underground projects to rehabilitate existing drainage infrastructures.
Norellco has completed many slide repairs over the years. Slides are generally caused by slope instability. Norellco works closely with the client to implement preventative measures reducing the potential for a repeated slide or landslip.
This category of projects includes the construction of support areas for bridges. Examples include: constructing support areas in a river, abutments and retaining walls, and bridge files used when a road crosses a creek.
